 www.HarpendenVillage.com has been developed by MoveForward.com, a Harpenden based web site marketing and search engine optimisation agency, to show the virtues of this small town and provide a conduit for Harpenden residents to communicate with each other. There are also many ex Harpenden residents from all over the world who have already shown great interest in the site. Feedback has shown that many would like to be kept up to date with what's going on here or contact long lost friends. Although a town for over a hundred years, the greens on either side of the High Street retain Harpenden's rural atmosphere, with the centre still referred to by locals as 'the village'. Harpenden's unique combination of wide open spaces provided by the commons and parks, and its thriving town centre make it a great place to live. Harpenden is situated mid-way between St Albans and Luton and has a population of approximately 30,000. The town is mainly residential with many residents commuting to London.
